    Premiere of a short chamber opera by Jan Gorjanc (reduced for piano 4 hands) on 14th of May 2015 at St. James's Paddington. SYNOPSIS The story is set in a nursing home room. Woman is painting when husband brings her flowers for her birthday. She is preoccupied with her hand, as she cannot recall what or whose it is. She decides to see who has visited her, hoping for a familiar face. But she cannot recognise him, thus she returns to her painting, as it soothes her. After a while she realises that the stranger can be trusted as she assumes he must be a doctor, which tells him that his wife, suffering from dementia, has one of her bad days. She finally realises the visitor is her husband, but she has bad news to tell. All that has been left from her memories is the day when she suffered the greatest of loses, and she has to relive it with him before she suddenly falls back in present, wandering what her hand is called.
